Breast Cancer UK

At Breast Cancer UK, we believe in a future where fewer people have to face breast cancer as we know that at least 30% of breast cancers are preventable through lifestyle and environmental factors. We exist to make that potential a reality: by empowering people with knowledge, driving evidence-based research, and campaigning for systemic change. We guide people on practical steps to reduce their risk of breast cancer, from diet and weight management to avoiding harmful chemicals and advocating for healthier environments. A distinctive area of our work is shining a spotlight on Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) — substances in everyday products that may interfere with hormones and increase cancer risk. We collaborate with like-minded organisations to amplify our voice on this critical issue, and we fund research we believe has the potential to be a “game-changer.”

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital (BWFH) is a 171 bed non-profit, community teaching hospital located in Jamaica Plain, just 3.4 miles from the Longwood medical area, and across the street from the Arnold Arboretum. Founded in 1900, BWFH has a long history of meeting the health care needs of the residents of southwest Boston and surrounding suburbs (read more about our history here). At Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, we believe that everyone should have the chance to live a healthy life. That's why we're connected to people wherever they are – in the neighborhoods where they live and play, in the places where they work, and increasingly where we can reach more people than ever before – online. From creating breakthroughs that have paved the way for treatments around the globe to training the next generation of providers, our patients, and those we may never meet, are at the center of everything we do. We are committed to increasing access to high-quality, personalized care for the patients and communities we serve and addressing obstacles that prevent achieving excellent health outcomes. Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is at its best when every employee feels equal, included, empowered and respected. When our employees feel supported our patients benefit from their transparency, creativity and innovation because we're all in this together. And together, we all thrive.
